Malta has huge potential for widespread deployment of Electric Vehicles (EV). This will contribute to reducing transport GHG emissions an other air/noise pollution; and improvements in air quality and health: Road taxes on conventional cars should be hugely increased; Attractive financial incentives introduced for low emission vehicles; Specific budget allocation for investment in EV-charging points and smart charging; Strategic partnership with leading EV manufacturers to kickstart process.
