secondary school students are required to attend a number of extra curricular activities (sports, music, cultural, etc) to achieve additional points for their school leaving certificates. Many organisations are finding it difficult to register for an SQC number. Moreover, this causes more financial strain on families, as well as difficulties to take children to and from lessons (especially when both parents are working). These activities should form part of the education given at school.
