In Malta there are two Consumer Associations hardly known by consumers. Consumer organizations find it difficult to carry out their work as they do not have any financial backing from Government as well as the Consumer Authority (MCCAA) is doing the work which they should be doing. MCCAA should stick to education programs and ensures enforcement of all legislation in the field of consumer protection. Human resources from MCCAA should be made at the disposal of consumer associations.
