Transitioning to a Comprehensive Green Transit System

To confront the climate crisis, we must make a rapid transition away from the traffic and danger of ubiquitous personal vehicles to a comprehensive, carbon-free transit system built around pedestrian needs, bike infrastructure, and socially owned high-speed electric rail and taxis. We must expand the Highway Trust Fund to upgrade current infrastructure, end federal funding for new roads, and require firms to allow working from home as much as is feasible to drastically reduce commuter traffic.
